Raise your welding standards with WPS qualification
Welding is a craft, but consistent and safe results demand a solid foundation - which is why WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) qualification is indispensable before any process goes into production.
We work to ASME IX, AWS D1.1, ISO, DNV, NORSOK and Petrobras requirements (N-133, N-2301), covering carbon steels, stainless steels and special alloys (titanium, nickel, copper, cobalt, aluminium, hardfacing).
What we deliver
- Preliminary WPS with variable selection to optimise the number and cost of qualifications
- On-site supervision by a Level 2 Welding Inspector
- Execution and follow-up of NDT and mechanical testing
- Issue of the PQR (Procedure Qualification Record) plus the final WPS
Why invest in WPS qualification
- Safety first - lower risk of structural failure and greater confidence in the durability of what you build.
- Consistency and repeatability - qualified procedures produce consistent output with less rework.
- Compliance with international codes - opens the door to more demanding, more profitable markets such as oil and gas and chemical processing.
- Operational efficiency - less wasted material and energy.
- Long-term cost reduction - less rework and maintenance, longer service life.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to qualify a WPS?
It depends on the code and the material, but a WPS is usually ready between 1 and 3 weeks after the test coupons are welded, including mechanical testing and NDT.
Does a WPS expire?
The WPS itself does not expire, but it loses validity if an essential variable changes (process, consumable, thickness range, position, heat treatment) beyond what was qualified - in that case a new qualification is required.
Can I use the same WPS under more than one code (ASME, AWS, ISO)?
Qualification can be planned to cover more than one code with the same set of test coupons, which cuts cost - but the final document still has to meet the specific requirements of each applicable code.
