Databook Preparation

The complete documentary history your client will demand before signing.

Databook Preparation

What a databook is

It is the complete documentary history of a project or piece of equipment: inspection and test reports, material and personnel qualification certificates, the fabrication schedule and end-to-end traceability.

Why it is indispensable

Many clients require the complete databook before they will even sign a contract - and a missing or incomplete databook can disqualify your company from a tender even when the product itself is technically sound. For equipment covered by NR-13 (pressure vessels, boilers), the databook is also part of the legal compliance requirement.

What we deliver

  • Consolidation of inspection and test reports (NDT, mechanical, dimensional)
  • Material certificates and welder/procedure qualification certificates
  • Documented fabrication schedule
  • Full traceability from material through to final delivery
  • Organisation and formatting ready for handover to the client or certifying body

Frequently asked questions

What happens if the databook is incomplete?

It can create punch-list items at handover, delay the final contract payment, or even disqualify the company from future tenders - which is why traceability has to be organised from the start of fabrication, not only at project close-out.

When is a databook legally required?

For equipment covered by Brazilian regulation NR-13 (pressure vessels, boilers, high-integrity piping) the databook forms part of the legal compliance requirement, and it is normally a contractual requirement from the client as well.
